Welsh Black Poplar

(Latin name – Populus Nigra ssp betulifolia)

A massive tree of the fertile Welsh flood plains. Since the C.19th, it has been disappearing rapidly. There are now only two hundred trees left in Wales – only two of which are female. Our trees are genetically tested and are confirmed non-hybrids.

Poplar trees are dioecious so there are both male and female trees available. You would need both for successful pollination.

Bilingual product label and small “Welsh to the Core!” tie-on label (left) included.
